After the ditching the “Sony Ericsson” clan, Sony unveiled their very first non-SE smartphone, the Xperia S (previously known as the Nozomi), which is also considered to be the company’s first-ever dual-core device!

Sony, as a smartphone company, is said to emphasize the screen, wanting to make it, as much as possible, realistic yet simplistic. They wanted that every pixel, from its shadow to reflection to texture, would be perfect. No doubt the new Xperia S features a whopping 4.3-inch HD display with 720×1280 pixel resolution.
Aside from the 1.5GHz dual-core processor, the Xperia S also boasts 1GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage (but no expansion option).
It also packs an eye-opener 12-megapixel autofocus camera with Sony’s Exmor R backlit senor, and a 1.3MP front-facing camera for video calls.

Unfortunately, the Xperia S comes out with last year’s Android Gingerbread OS but Sony promised to have it updated with the Ice Cream Sandwich in the second quarter of 2012.
The Xperia S will be available in the US at the end of the first quarter of 2012 in two colors — silver and black. No word yet on its availability and retail pricing in the Philippines.

Hey there , I am forming a new site almost like wikipedia and your articles would fit the context good. Would I be able to post your website?
Is it ok if I quote your article in my monthly newsletter? I think your writing would suit my readers perfectly. Uhmmm, thanks for posting this.
What’s great about Sony is the continuous support for updates and firmware tweaks. (unlike LG) Not to mention that they give their source codes to independent android developers further improving their software. (unlike htc)
Target phone ko to next, unless they release Xperia Play 2. ;)
iphone 4s killer? you can bet on it.
Er–no. Sony’s one of the worst smartphone makers when it comes to firmware updates.
Their track record simply says it all.
