Motorola has officially announced not one, but two successors of its Xoom tablet — the 10.1-inch XOOM 2 and the 8.2-inch XOOM 2 Media Edition. Both tablets feature thinner and lighter bodies along with a new look, which appears to be a tablet version of the Droid RAZR.

As the direct successor of the original XOOM tablet, the Motorola XOOM 2 packs a 10.1-inch Gorilla Glass display. It also comes with 16GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM, and is powered by a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor and Android Honeycomb.
Moreover, XOOM 2‘s camera is a disappointment since it still gets the same 5MP rear camera (as the original Xoom) and worse, it only has a single LED flash instead of two. The front camera as well has been downgraded from 2MP to 1.3MP.
Just like the Droid RAZR, the XOOM 2 also comes with a splash-guard technology that prevents incidental splashes from ruining the device. And the battery promises to last up to 10+ hours of Web usage and/or a month of standby-time only.
Another new thing about the XOOM 2, it now comes with a new bestfriend called the Motorola Stylus for added precision.
Motorola XOOM 2 specs:
| DIMENSIONS | 253.9 x 173.6 x 8.8 mm |
| DISPLAY | 800 x 1280 pixels, 10.1 inches (~149 ppi pixel density) TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors Gorilla Glass display |

| FEATURES | 1.2 GHz dual-core processor; Android OS (Honeycomb) |
| BATTERY | Standard battery, Li-Ion |

The Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition, which packs a 8.2-inch Gorilla Glass display, is definitely Motorola’s bet for the 8.9-inch tablet market. Just like the XOOM 2, the Media Edition also comes with a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, and 5MP rear camera.
However, the Media Edition weighs a little bit heavier and is a little bit thicker than the XOOM 2. Its battery is said to last up to 6 hours of web browsing and about half a week of music playback.
The XOOM 2 Media Edition is also packed with BASS Subwoofer and 3D surround sound.
Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition specs:
