The Optimus EX had just been officially announced and launched in Korea via SK Telecom just last week together with the actual press images and the detailed specifications as well. The Optimus EX is definitely a great addition of LG’s Optimus series and/or a replacement to its successor (Optimus 2x), sporting a very bright 4-inch display and an upgraded dual-core processor.

The LG Optimus EX should be very sleek and sexy since it comes in at under 10-mm thick. This smartphone features a very bright 700-nit, IPS-based 4-inch display at 480×800 pixels. Apart from being Android-powered, it also runs a very powerful 1.2Ghz Tegra 2 dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It includes 8GB of internal storage as well.

Its cameras, both the rear and the front-facing, are quite disappointing. Unfortunately, its 5MP rear camera doesn’t include an LED flash while the front-facing camera is on VGA.
According to LG, the Optimus EX will resonate in other countries as well but it’s heading just in Korea for now. But whenever it comes available in the US, T-mobile is expected to be the top choice for it. There’s no word on its pricing and release date here in the Philippines.
