Lenovo launches tabletphone LePad S2005, pits it against the Galaxy Note!

Lenovo Mobile attempts to battle tail-to-tail against Samsung’s 5.3-inch Galaxy Note as it introduces its very own smartphone-cum-tablet, the 5-inch LePad S2005, which landed first in China. Eventually, the LePad S2005 will be branded under the IdeaTab series in other countries.

Dimensions-wise, the LePad S2005 has failed to beat the Galaxy Note since it is .2-mm thicker and 20-g heavier. And it also comes in a smaller screen of just 5 inches compared to the latter’s 5.3-inch display.

Running the Android Gingerbread, the IdeaTab S2005 comes with Lenovo’s top-of-the-line specs including a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel main camera that can record 1080p HD videos, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, and a 1,680-mAh battery. It also includes a micro-USB port, micro-HDMI port and HSPA+ radio.

There’s no word on its availability and price yet here in the Philippines. But we’re expecting this to arrive some time in February with a price ranging from 30K to 35K.

i am in china and bought it 2 days ago. here’s one good reason why you will buy this instead of samsung note – THE PRICE! I was comparing them for half a day in the store and true as told the samsung note trumps the lephone by some margin by 25% in most cases. it is really a premium gadget but for those people who are not stunned by glitz and glamour and only want what is suffecient with a price point that justifies the purchase, then lephone is a best buy. Ive been playing with it for some time and it gave me pleasure to watch videos, go to internet, play music, boost the memory to 32 gb, download all the android games i want with a battery to last me more than a day of non stop tinkering! the os is very fluid and no nonsense. hindi ko sya maiyayabang na the best even if i wanted to but is way more than good enough to do everything that my iphone doesnt allow me to do and i am a happy camper!. bottom line – perfect!

Galaxy Note is wayyyy better than this! Why would Lenovo launch something that couldn't even surpass the Galaxy Note? Pssshhh. They're just wasting their time and money.
