After updating several interfaces on most of their websites, Google takes no exemption on the world’s most popular video site, their very own, YouTube. However, as of this time, getting YouTube’s new look, which hasn’t been rolled out to the public yet, is unfortunately not as easy as clicking on a link, but it’s not that difficult neither. In fact, the update can be done in less than a minute!
According to sources, the new look works best on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers and doesn’t work on Opera and Safari browsers. It also works on Internet Explorer 9 but it goes back to the original interface when restarted.
Here are the four (4) simple steps to get the new YouTube look:
1. Go to YouTube.
2. 1 For Google Chrome users, press Ctrl + Shift + J on your keyboards (or right-click on the page and select the Inspect element option) and click on the Console tab.
2.2 For Mozilla Firefox users, press Ctrl + Shift + K (or go over to menu on top » Web Developer » Web Console).
2.3 For IE9 users, press F12 and click on the Console tab.
3. Copy-paste the code below in the Console:
document.cookie=”VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=ST1Ti53r4fU”;
4. Press Enter and refresh the YouTube page. You’ll now have YouTube’s new look!
In case you wanted to revert to the original YouTube look, just follow the same steps but instead use this code to be copied-pasted in the Console:
document.cookie=”VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=”;
Press Enter and refresh the page. You’ll now get the original one.
There’s nothing really changed as for playing a video. You’ll get more or less the same video player along with the standard play / pause, volume adjustment, video length info, and video quality and size options.
